Earlier this month Anthony Mather, Technical Director at Quorum, traveled to Israel for the Managed Services Security Airlift event. He was one of only 63 partners invited to the event from around the globe, and one of only two Australians who attended.
Anthony was Quorum’s first ever employee, and is their Technical Director. He has been working for Quorum for fifteen years and has seen the company grow immensely during his time there. He has also seen great growth in Quorum’s strong focus on Microsoft Security and Compliance, especially over the last three years. In December, Quorum was one of the first partners to reach Microsoft Gold Security Competency, and was also certified a great workplace by Great Place To Work Australia in 2020.
Quorum were invited to go to Israel because of their existing work around Microsoft Security and Compliance and how they have transitioned that work into a managed service. Therefore Anthony was sent to represent Quorum at the event as he leads that practice.
Microsoft Israel Research and Development was established in 1991 and has over 1550 employees. Israel has an extremely strong focus on research and development with its investment rated as the number 1 nation as per cent of gross domestic product and researches per 1000 people.
Day One
The first day Anthony spent in Israel, Microsoft R&D showed the partners product overviews and capabilities for:

- Microsoft Cloud App Security

That evening there was an incredible welcome party for all the partners from around the world, held at the Publica Hotel in Herzliya. It was the perfect time to bond and build rapport with colleagues from similar companies around the globe.
Day Two and Three
Both the second and third day covered deep dive Managed Services Security use cases for all the previously mentioned products as well as future road map features.
There were also some very impressive presentations from Quorum’s friends from Microsoft Global Security Partner of the year (InSpark) and Critical Start on their security offerings.
Day two’s evening was enjoyed with some time off where Anthony was lucky enough to see the city of Tel Aviv. He spent time with new friends from partners in Canada and Finland and visited the great Bellboy Bar in Tel Aviv.
Day three’s evening was a very productive team dinner at the Greko restaurant in Herzliya.
